Sweets , gifts , greetings , SMS's , diyas , all saying the same thing ...Diwali's here ! Houses adorned with beautiful diyas and rangolis , last minute shopping , and ofcourse... people !! They're all over the place ...

Talking of light , days of happiness , prosperity , and good times ...makes you think of what the other side would be ...are there people who are not fortunate enough to enjoy Diwali like me ?

Sadly , the answer is Yes . To be very very specific , I would like to point out to incidents that happened recently . No ,I'm not talking about the bomb blasts , tsunamis , earthquakes etc ...these were things that we could not help to an extent. What i'm saying is a number of children who lost their lives , at a fireworks factory. It was due to an explosion in the factory.

Most of the workers at these factories ,are children. Sivakasi,TamilNadu is one of the most famous places for these kind of accidents. And there is no number to the number of children who lose their body parts , and those who inhale those poisonous gases ,and become victims to various respiratory ailments at such a young age .

Not forgetting , that these children do not come under social security or labour benefits offered by the Government of India!! . So , they are made to work like donkeys , and when their bodies are not capable of anymore work ,they're thrown out !! These kids are made to work in inhuman conditions , even without the basic facilities like food, drinking water and sleep( Refer to TOI , 31st Oct) Oh..did I forget education ?

During my school days , one of my friends once told me , its something that I'll never forget .. " If you are so interested in celebrating Diwali , and you just have to , have to burn something , just take out a 500 rupee note ...and burn it . But please stop stepping on the lives of those children. The 500 bucks will remind you of the money that you spent for crackers !" .

Thats it.And here I am writing this blog , asking everybody to "PUHHHLEASE stop buying crackers !!" You are encouraging those factories ..!!

For those , who just can't relate to what Im saying ...in short..

"BUY A CRACKER , AND HELP SNUFF OUT A LIFE " !!

P.S : Happy Diwali !!

Real thing, Jomy. These children... I wonder how those people who are bursting crackers right now would feel if a million crackers in making went off around them...

And, I don't buy crackers anyway, since First, I hate Noise, especially loud noise. And Second, The Smoke would be soooooooo bad to me that I'd rather sit through 10 hours of John Peter than to go near a Cracker...

ANd, Happy Diwali to you tooo!

I with u on this one jomy..!!

I dont burn crackers...

And i really wanted to try and inculcate this into my cousins this diwali...but u know kids..they have a mind of their own....

but i noticed that this diwali was a lot quieter...

see i lotta these things will be outta the way when our generation takes over the Govt.
And the sillier things that are hyped nowadays like crackers...won't be so much in the foreground...hopefully.... :)
